Three of our Thousand Island ACBS members won National ACBS awards!

Heidi Szonn won the Terry Fiest Award: This is a new annual award sponsored by the Sunnyland Chapter and serves to recognize the dedication, leadership, and vision of an individual Chapter member(s) which has served as a Boat Show Chairperson, Judge, or volunteer who has demonstrated outstanding sustained performance at a Chapter’s premier Boat Show Event.
Randy Fletcher won Mary Herwig Award – This trophy honors an individual at the International level who, through activities at the chapter level, has contributed broadly and in an outstanding manner toward enhancing and furthering the aims and objectives of the society. Their contribution could typically have been through communications, membership or committee activities that encourage, assist and promote interest in the preservation, restoration and enjoyment of antique, classic and historic boats.
Bruce Watkins won the Rover Award, donated by the Toronto Chapter , this trophy is awarded for the purpose of recognizing outstanding effort by an individual or group in the organization and implementation of a cruise or function,
encouraging the use of antique, classic and historic boats for the enjoyment of the chapter and
society’s members.

Our 2025 ACBS Kick Off to Boat Show was held Friday, July 25 at Wellesley Island Road House. There were 42 guests in attendance. Randy Fletcher, President, welcomed all. Randy recognized past Presidents : Bud Ames, Dave Richardson, & Stu Clough . He thanked the crew of helpers who came Friday afternoon to clean up, and ready the venue. He thanked Rick Casali for securing the Road House for our use. Randy thanked Joe McBride for his valued support with set up, serving and clean up! He thanked the many sponsors for supporting our Boat show and donating door prizes to the dinner.
